The Seven Last Words of Jesus... Today

It is during this time of Lent that we remember Jesus’ suffering on the cross because he was seen as a threat to the powerful. We can liken this to the continuing suffering that people are still experiencing today worldwide, because of unjust legal structures. 

The work of FI at the United Nations together with Franciscans around the world continues to ensure that the dignity of every person is respected; resources are shared equitably; the environment is sustained; and nations and peoples live in peace. (FI vision)

The FI booklet invites you to reflect on the 'Seven Last Words of Jesus' in relation to current issues affecting people who are marginalized and to hold them in prayer.
